Visiting CMS 2010 & Vancouver, BC

“The Pacific Northwest” conjures up various thoughts: rain, grunge music, the Seahawks, the Space Needle, snowcapped mountains and lots of evergreens.  When I think about it, I think, “Cool!  Another Christian Musician Summit!”

I’m hanging out with a bunch of friends as I visit the Seattle, Washington, and Vancouver, British Columbia areas this month.  If you are in those areas, please try to attend the following events.  Hope to see you there!

PUGET SOUND CHRISTIAN CENTER :: I’m looking forward to speak to some of the musicians and other artists at Puget Sound Christian Center on Thursday evening, November 11.  This informal “Coffee Talk” is open to all, so if you are in the Pacific Northwest, feel free to swing by.  For info on the church, please hit their website here.

CHRISTIAN MUSICIAN SUMMIT :: I’ll be speaking again at CMS, located at Overlake Church, in Redmond, Washington (greater Seattle area) on November 12-13.  This two-day event features workshops and worship concerts by Brenton Brown, Israel Houghton, Phil Keaggy, and even my buddy Brandon Bee.  For more information, hit the Christian Musician Summit website or check out this video which gives you an overview of the conference.

During this conference, I’ll be speaking at two workshops:

“Creativity & Faith” discusses the crucial necessity of understanding the convergence of faith and the arts, the nature of creativity, and the relationship between the artist and God.  This workshop will be Saturday morning.

“Pride: The Hidden Sin of the Worship Leader” dives respectfully and sensitively into the touchy issue of pride and how it affects each and every one of us, particularly the worship leader and the unique role given to him/her.  This workshop will be Saturday afternoon.

SOUTH DELTA BAPTIST CHURCH :: I’m really excited to visit my friends at South Delta, located in Tsawwassen, British Columbia, where I’ll be sharing some music and joining the worship team at their 10:30 AM morning service on November 14. Check out their website here or contact them at 604.943.8244.
