I’ll be speaking at the Thriving Musician Summit at Bayside Church in Roseville, California, on September 16-18. TMS is a three-day conference for lead worshipers, musicians, technicians, pastors, songwriters, and indie artists to improve their skill and inspire their talent. Worship artists at this event include Paul Baloche, Matt Redman, Lincoln Brewster, and Phil Keaggy.
I’ll be speaking at two workshops, both of which will be presented on the Saturday of the event. Synopses of these workshops are below. For more information and to view a promotional video, slam it here. And please drop me a note if you’re interested in having me speak at your church or ministry. Thanks!
Workshop 1: “Creativity and Faith”
“Why are we creative? What makes us compose, paint, write, film, act, and dance? And how does God receive our artistic expressions? Manuel Luz practically discusses the crucial necessity of understanding the convergence of faith and the arts, the nature of creativity, and the relationship between the artist and God.”
Workshop 2: “Beyond Worship: The Arts in the Church”
“More and more churches are using the arts (music, drama, visual arts, film, etc.) in cutting-edge ways. But are your churches unleashing your artists in the best way possible? In this workshop, Manuel Luz gives a fresh and practical perspective on the role of the arts in the church, and encourages everyone to disciple and unleash the artists in your church to express themselves more fully inside and outside your church walls.”
